HOLINESS DEFINED

INTRODUCTION:

People do not naturally drift towards holiness. We do not gravitate towards godliness, prayer, obedience and purity.

We drift towards compromise and call it tolerance. We drift towards disobedience and rebellion and call it freedom. We drift toward superstition and call it faith.

We cherish a life of indiscipline and call it relaxation. We drift toward prayerlessness and godlessness and enter into diverse kinds to temptations.

Therefore, God has called us out of darkness into His Marvellous Light and made us partakers of His Divine Nature (1 Peter 2:9; 2 Peter 1:4).

HOLINESS DEFINED

1. Holiness is emulating God in all His ways.

2. Holiness means refusing to submit to the dictates of the flesh.

3. Holiness is the complete departure from sin

4. Holiness means laying aside every weight that ensnares us

5. Holiness means having a clean heart purified by the Holy Spirit.

6. Holiness means dying to sin and living unto righteousness.

7. Holiness means living as overcomers and as sons and daughters of the Most High God in a sinful world.

8. Holiness means following in the footsteps of Christ.

9. Holiness means living in constant awareness that your body is the holy temple of God.

10. Holiness means living as the Lord’s chosen.

11. Holiness means having a perfect heart towards God.

12. Holiness means being conformed to the image of Christ

13. Holiness means keeping and preserving your spirit, soul and body blameless before God.

14. Holiness means being cleansed and purified for sacred use and service.

15. Holiness means being consecrated and dedicated to God.

16. Holiness means practising purity in every area of life.

17. Holiness means walking in the light

18. Holiness define means living in the Truth – (1 John 1:6; John 18:37-38; John 14:6).

19. Holiness means cultivating the moral integrity of Christ.

20. Holiness define is having the mind of Christ -(Philippians 2:5)

21. Holiness define is holding firmly to the word of Life.

WHAT IS HOLINESS?

Fundamentally, holiness is the state of being holy which means a cutting off or separation from what is unclean, and a consecration to what is pure. Synonyms:Sanctity, divinity, godliness, saintliness, godliness, sacredness, faith, devotion, devoutness, divineness, blessedness, spirituality, piety, piousness, righteousness, goodness, perfection, virtue, virtuousness, purity, and sinlessness. It is “a life of holiness and total devotion to God.”

The following fruits will show in the life of a person who is living holy:

1. God’s Love will flow from your heart to others- (1 John 2:10-11; John 13:34-35).

2. You will be united in the Spirit with other believers in the Body of Christ- (john 17:20-23; Ephesians 4:3; Psalm 133:1-3).

3. You will experience purity within and without, according to -(Matthew 5:6-8; Psalm 15:1-5, 24:3-4; Hebrews 12:14).

4. You will maintain a clean and holy conscience before God and before men (Corinthians 1:12; 1 Timothy 1:5,19).

5. You will live to please God in all things – (Galatians 1:10 Ephesians 5:10, Hebrews 11:6; 2 Corinthians 5:91Thessalonians 2:4.)

6. You will become clean in your body, soul and spirit – (2 Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 10:22; Ephesians 5:26).

7. Holiness will beautify you – (Psalm 96:9; Isaiah 61:3).

8. Holiness will sharpen your discernment – (Isaiah 11:3 Matthew 13:13; Daniel 5:11-12).

9. You will become as bold as a lion – (Proverbs 28: 1; Acts 4:31).

10. You will prosper exceedingly in whatsoever you do – (Genesis 39:1-6; Daniel 6:1-4).

Conclusion on Holiness define

Our Holy Father in Heaven, who gave the command to live holy has also given us the grace to live a life of holiness. We must walk on the way of holiness in order to manifest His beauty of holiness in our lives.

We must walk in the footsteps of Christ by walking on the way of holiness.
