Revival in the church

God has always wanted his people to be revived, and revival in the church is a vital aspect of our Christianity race.

In today’s post I’ll explain revival in the church and why it’s very important in our world today.

Introduction

Who needs revival? Everybody need revival, anyone or any church that is dead and is not revived, will remain dead forever and suffer everlasting torment in hellfire, Hence the necessity for revival.

Anyone or any church that is dying and is not strengthened or resuscitated will eventually die and be in danger of everlasting damnation in hell (Revelation 3:3).

Revival in the church

We need revival now because many Christians erroneously believe that revival is synonymous with church activities without spending quality time in the word and in the secret place with God (Psalm 91:1; Colossians 3:16).

Spiritual revival is an on-going process. We must revive ourselves daily, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit until we the Lord in glory and power.

WHAT REVIVAL IS

Revival is:
1. A rejuvenation and return to biblical pattern of ministry- (2 Timothy 4:5, Colossians 4:17).

2. Walking in the Spirit of the risen Christ — (Galatians 5:16; Romans 6:12,).

3. The intoxicating power of joy —( Luke 10:12, 19:37).

4. A replication of angelic praises and worship among men (Luke 2:6-14).

5. The eternal assignment from the Holy Spirit – (Isaiah 6:1-4).

6. The shout of victory and dominion in recognition of the one true God — (2 Corinthians 1:18; 1 John 5:20, 1 Kings 18:24,39).

7. Sitting with Christ in heavenly places – (Ephesians 1:20).
8. The manifestation of the sons of God on earth – (Romans 8:19; Acts 14:8-18).

9. The restoration of wasted years —(Joel 2:25).

10. The acts of the Apostles and our fathers in the faith –(1Corinthians 4:9-21).

11. The demonstration of the Spirit and Power of the Almighty – (1 Corinthians 2:4-5; 1 Kings 18:36).

12. The renewing of strength in God’s Presence – (Isaiah 40:28-31; Psalm 84:7).

13. To come alive again from the dead – (Revelation 1:18; Romans 6:9).

14. Worshipping the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in spirit and in truth – (John 4:21-24; 1 Timothy 2:8).

15. Knowing that Jesus is indeed the Christ and Saviour of the world (John 4:42, 17:8; 1 John 4:14).

16. A fanning into flame of the smouldering fire within – (Malachi 3:2; 1 Peter 1:7).

17.Turning the world upside down for God – (Acts 16, 17:6).

18. A quickening by the word of Life _( Hebrew 4.12
Ephesians 6:17; Philippians 2:16)

19. Faith coming alive again (Luke 24:25, Hebrew 3:12, 1).

20. Restoration of the joy of Salvation.

21. Spiritual renewal (4:23; Colossians 3:10, Tirus 3:5).
22. Stirring up the gifts of the Spirit within you (2 Timothy 1:6; 1 Timothy 4:14).

23. Going forth to proclaim the word everywhere and being followed with signs and wonders (Mark 16:15-20 Hebrew 2:3-4).

24. The fulfilment of God’s prophetic agenda – (Matthew 24:14,28:19-20).

WHY REVIVAL IS NEEDED IN THE CHURCH

REVIVAL IS NEEDED:

  1. When we abandon our first love (1 Timothy 5:12, Jeremiah 2:2; Matthew 24:12; Revelation 2:4).
  2. When we set our affections on the things of the earth, instead of the things above.
  3.  When we refuse to search the Scriptures as commanded by the Lord.
  4. When we stop praying without ceasing.
  5. When we are very stingy in giving to promote God’s glory on Earth.
  6. When spiritual babies are being ordained into leadership positions as bishops and overseers without meeting God’s requirements.
  7. When believers are neither hot nor cold spiritually and physically.
  8. When we practise passionless and joyless Christianity.
  9. When we know the Truth, but fail to live the Truth that can set us free.

10. When we are indifferent to winning souls for Christ.

11. When we are pretending to be spiritual and godly without any evidence of God’s power in our lives.

12. When believers have turned themselves into water carriers instead of carrying and vomiting the fire of God to wherever they go.

13. When Christians are no longer looking forward to the second coming of Christ.

HOW TO REKINDLE REVIVAL IN THE CHURCH

The church is the people not the building, so in other to rekindle revival in the church, Christian needs to work on the following:

  1. Genuine repentance Ezekiel 18.31; Luke 13:2, 3;
  2. Pray for boldness to preach and teach nothing but the truth of the gospel according to – (Acts 4:13, 29, 31, 19:8; Ephesian 6:19).
  3. Pray for grace to face persecution.
  4.  Flee from all forms of fornication and sexual immoralities and all doctrines of the devil.
  5.  Be drunk in the Spirit everyday, you can achieve this by asking for the spirit of God to speak to you and guide you always.
  6. Study the Acts of the Apostles and the letters of Paul and practise what they state, read this scriptures to attain full understanding of the letter of Paul (Philippians 3;17; Luke 9:23; 1
    Corinthians 11:1; Proverbs 13:20; Matthew 11:28-30).
  7.  Be faithful to the end.

CONCLUSION

The need for revival in the church these last days cannot be overemphasised. Revival in the church is greatly required.

The Lord’s return is imminent and He is not coming for the dead. He is coming for those who are alive in Him. The Lord is coming for those who are burning and shining with the light of Christ in this depraved generation.

The time has come for everyone of us to live up to our spiritual responsibilities and rekindle the fire of revival in our lives, individually and corporately.
We pray that as the day of the Lond draws neat, none of us shall be left behind, in the name of Jesus Christ.

1. O Lord, rejuvenate your revival in the Church, in the name of Jesus.
2 I declare that the revival ignited in my life will never go out, in the name of Jesus.
