The word faith is a very common word among believers, but many are yet to know that faith is also among the Spiritual gift in the Bible, which is why The spiritual gift of faith is a very important topic for all believers.

Faith is a very powerful Spiritual weapon, without this Spiritual gift of faith, it might be very difficult for most Christian To receive from God.

Introduction

We must recognize that there are many kinds of faith. Everyone has faith.(Rom. 12:3). There is simple faith and salvation faith. But these two types are not the same as the supernatural gift of the Holy Spirit we are studying here.

There is also a difference between the measure of faith which is given to a believer and the Spiritual gift of faith. Faith under this context means extra-ordinary trust in God under the most difficult or dangerous circumstance.

The Spiritual Gift of faith

The gift of faith entails blindness to every unpleasant situation around one and deafness to the voice of the flesh and men, but openness and focus on Jesus the Author and the Finisher of our faith.

The Spiritual gift of faith” is a special kind of faith given by the Holy Spirit to some individual believers which enables such believers to believe God without doubting at all (Matthew.21:21: Luke17:6) for something that is ordinarily impossible (Roman. 12:3; Ephesians.2:8,6:23; Philippians.1:29).

Faith is a fundamental requirement of the Christian life through which one see differently and which helps one to respond positively and in a godly manner to situations and circunstances around and within one.

Types of  of The Spiritual gift of Faith

1. Natural Faith:

This is the kind of faith farmers have when they sow their seed. The farmer has faith for sowing and reaping or else he would eat the seed rather than plant it.

A fisherman has a natural faith which prompt him to go out and cast his net in the right spot at the right time and in the right way, believing that he will catch fish. These are examples of natural Spiritual gift of faith.

2. Saving Faith:

A person hears the gospel, believes it and accepts Jesus into his life and gets saved. Every redeemed person in the world has a saving faith. (Lk.23:42-43). This is receiving the gift of salvation by just believing. Acts 16:30-31 reveals that the Philippian jailer has a saving faith.

The Spiritual gift of faith has to do with the functioning of God in a person’s life. No human strength is involved at all. The person does nothing. Only God does something supernatural on his or her behalf.

How Does The spiritual gift of faith Operate?

You cannot function in or with God without faith. That is why we should read the Bible every day. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. (Roman. 10:17).

What the Bible says about Faith

Hebrew. 11:1 : defines faith as the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.

1. Through it, remission of sins is received (Acts. 10:43;Roman. 1:25) .

2. Justification is achieved. (Acts 13:39; Roman. 3:2).

3. Salvation is gotten through faith. (Mark. 16:16).

4. Access to God is assured. (Roman. 5:2).

5. There is adoption into the family of God. (John 1:12; Galatians 3:26).

6. Without faith, it is impossible to please God according to the bible. (Hebrew. 11:6)

Purpose of the Spiritual Gift of Faith

1. The gift of faith is more of a process. In other words, the working of miracles would perform a miracle, but the gift of faith will receive a miracle.

2. The gift is manifested for personal protection in precarious circumstances, such as the case of Daniel in the lions’ den.

3. The gift manifested for supernatural substance in the time of famine. For example, the case of Elisha predicting abundance in time of famine (2Kings 7:1 -11).

4. The gift manifested to raise the dead. E.g. Dorcas.

5. The gift is employed in casting out evil spirits. When a believer cast out devils, he/she is trusting God to honour his/her words as His own.

6. In some instances, the gift comes into operation in the laying of hands for people to be filled with the Holy Ghost.

Conclusion:

A life without faith cannot receive the power of God. The Spiritual gift of faith is a very important gift, which all Christian most have and seek for.
